Indigo Stray Conger LMFT

I trained as a counselor in the heart of San Francisco – land of inclusiveness, sexual exploration and no judgments! I am accepting of and familiar with alternative lifestyles, including BDSM, swinging, polyamory and queer. If you are searching for a forum to improve your relationships and to become your best self, without shame, secrecy, or having to fit into anyone else’s concept of “normal”, then contact me. I recognize the unhealthy dynamics that can become entrenched between people who care deeply for one other and I help clients return to the connection and vulnerability that they have lost. I guide my clients towards reclaiming the space between them as joyful and exciting.

I have a background in somatics and in working with the body. I enjoy addressing stress and anxiety from the perspective of our embodied selves, using breath and mindfulness to soften protective defenses and re-inhabit physicality. I help partners and individuals to break habits and patterns which no longer serve them.

I am committed to a profound and ongoing relationship with my clients. I am available on a flexible schedule, including days, evenings and weekends and I typically answer emails and text messages within the hour. I enjoy working with individuals and with relationships of all kinds – improving connection, intimacy and fulfillment. I encourage you to challenge yourself and do the work it takes to live the life you want.

I have been a counselor since 2008 and have over 10 years of training as a psychotherapist. I am a professional consultant in the field of Alternative Relationship Styles, as heard on the Family Affairs podcast and presenting through the University of Denver, the Denver Family Institute, and Exaholics. I currently review independently published books on the topics of sexuality, somatics, and psychotherapy for BlueInk Review. I was also recently consulted as a polyamory expert for an article in The Rooster.

I was named on the Thumbtack Best Counselors of 2015 list. You can click on the icon below and scroll to the bottom of the page to read reviews of my work on the Thumbtack website:

Jason Conger LMFT LCSW LAC

I believe it is an honor to engage others in their journey towards meaningful and lasting change. I subscribe to an integrated approach to therapy by utilizing models such as solution-focused, attachment theory and structural family therapy. Using insight, empathy and connection I help individuals, couples, and families to find resolution and healing.

I have helped people through a wide breadth of psychological struggles including depression, anxiety, low self-worth and partnership discord. I am comfortable with and competent in addressing alternative relationship styles, including kink, polyamory and LGBTQIA. I specialize in fostering parenting skills, working with families to effectively manage various psychological problems associated with childhood and teenage acting out by incorporating behavior modification and age appropriate interventions into family therapy.

I am comfortable addressing issues of substance abuse in session without stigmatizing my client’s exploration of substance use. I currently co-direct the MIP (Minor In Possession) deferment program at the Denver Family Therapy Center. During my time as a Multisystemic Therapist (MST) at Synergy, I addressed adolescent alcohol treatment and drug rehabilitation in family systems.

Additional roles for me include being a facilitator of the Men’s Groups at Mile High Psychotherapy, which you can read more about here. I have also served as affiliate faculty at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
