Five Reasons Women Love a Man in Uniform and Do Men Love Uniforms Like Women Do?

As with much of our sexual and relationship behavior, women are often compelled to love men in uniform because they are driven by biological urges, according to licensed relationship and sex therapist Indigo Stray Conger, Co-Founder of Mile High Psychotherapy and writer for Choosing Therapy.

“From the biological imperative perspective, this may be because women innately want a man who can protect them and their progeny,” said Conger. “Whether this kind of desire is culturally or genetically programmed, heterosexual women have been shown to prefer a man who takes action, and a uniform alludes to action without needing to show anything else.”

“Erotic homosexual images frequently include men in uniform, possibly because they’re the embodiment of traditionally male attributes and the indication of a man of action,” said licensed relationship and sex therapist Indigo Stray Conger, Co-Founder of Mile High Psychotherapy and writer for Choosing Therapy. “The reasons these images exist may also include that the military and traditionally male uniformed professions, such as policemen and firemen, despite a history of homophobic atmospheres, are also a great context to find potentially hot homosexual mates. Look no further than the Village People’s ‘YMCA’, an iconic gay song of the seventies, including a policeman and a military man.”
